2. Why It Matters

Build Guitars That Solve Problems Not Create Them

If you've build guitars before, you know the flaws of traditional design. Traditional bracing and fixed necks were never designed with the modern player in mind. Warped tops, poor action, and neck resets aren't just frustrating - they're totally avoidable.

This course gives you the framework to:

  • End neck reset anxiety with a full adjustable cantilevered neck

  • Build a guitar with enhanced tonal response and dynamic clarity

  • Integrate modern features like arm bevels, side ports and responsive bracing

  • Build confidently , knowing you instrument will perform and endure

Whether you're building for clients or for your own passion, this is the kind of project that separates modern luthiers from traditional woodworkers.

3. Who I Am

Hey, I'm Jeff Bamburg,

and for over 20 years, I've built guitars for working musicians and taught others to do the same.

My First Guitar?

I built it from a kit, and it took me over a year to finish. There were no clear instructions, so I tried to piece together information from YouTube videos.

I made so many mistakes that it wasn’t even playable.

"I learned a lot… but I also wasted a lot of time and money."

My second guitar looked better from a woodworking standpoint, but it still didn’t sound great. That’s when I realized how much more there was to know — and how hard it was to find guidance that actually made sense.

I spent years figuring out why traditional methods weren't delivering modern performance. Through experimentation, listening, failure, and refinement, I developed the design I teach today - guitars that are more responsive, easier to adjust, and structurally built for the long haul.

This course is everything I wish existed when I moved beyond kits and started designing for real performance.

Since then, I’ve built many more guitars and taught others how to do the same — through live classes and now, this online course.

If you’ve ever dreamed of building your own guitar, you’re in the right place. And I’ll be here to guide you through every step.

I created this course to be the kind of step-by-step guidance I wish I had when I was starting.

No confusion. No second-guessing. Just a clear path from raw wood to finished instrument.
